Part 1 – Transcript
Elisa: How did you all meet?
Jared: How did we meet?
Beau: We met, um, actually, my room mate works for the record label, and she’s like ‘oh you gotta try for Blessthefall oh blahblah’, so I wrote them on Myspace and they actually (?) me out to try out, and we met and it was a magical moment.
J: It was like, (?), and we said ‘Lets do this!’ and -
B: You actually did say that.
J: – And he’s like ‘do what?’ and I’m like, ‘the band!’ [laughs].
B: So yeah, we got to hang out, [Beau starts mumbling] and we met the (?) for the first time, and it was magical, (?).
E: What show is the most memorable so far?
J: For this tour, or for like, in general?
E: General.
J: Um, so far I’d probably have to say, I don’t know, there’s so many that were like, amazing.
B: There’s, well, there’s Las Vegas with the Extreme thing, and that’s the most people I’ve ever been in front of on stage in my life, and I mean, there’s like, thousands, so that was pretty memorable, just to be able to play in front of that many people. And, you know, there’s little small shows that are, you know, everyone just going completely crazy, and so its, its a different field, like that show, Extreme thing, was memorable just because, like, there were all those people, and then there’s like, (?) Utah, not (?), in Lawrence, we played and we switched places with the crowd, and made them go on stage for the whole last song, and we all played on the floor, and that was pretty memorable.
E: Was that a couple of months ago?
B: Yeah.
E: Yeah, missed that one because of (?)
[all laugh]
B: You! Man behind the camera!
[more laughing]
B: So yeah, like, two different fields, but y’know, both definitely memorable.
E: How do you feel about the ‘Christian’ music label and do you think Blessthefall fit under that?
B: We’re not not Christians –
J: Yeah, its more like we’re Christians in a band, more than a ‘Christian band’. So, like, we don’t like to preach on stage and stuff.
B: Yeah.
J: Like, we all hope through our music, and we don’t wannna like, force any of it on anybody, ‘cos then… they believe what they want to believe, they shouldn’t be forced to believe something.
B: I think, there’s like, when you’re like [a] ‘Christian band’, I think you’re kind of under a microscope, everyone’s kind of waiting for you to make a mistake, and once you do they go ‘Oh they said their Christians! They’re a Christian band! And now, they’ve said, like, the ‘f’ word’ and like, everyone makes mistakes, and you know what I’m saying? No ones perfect, there’s definitely people who are ‘Christian bands’ who like, do way worse things than us, so its like, you don’t wanna have that, kind of like, attached to you, because people are like, waiting to judge you and stuff, so.
E: If you could claim another song as your own, what would you chose and why?
B:
